Reminds me of a remark the late Alan Whicker made in one of his documentaries forty years ago. He visited a gated community in Florida where only those who were retired and over sixty years of age could buy a property. The residents ran the place themselves, post, utilities, security, fire, etc.,. He said "It's a place where you can get up each morning with nothing to do and go to bed each night with only half of it done."
Mart, I know exactly what you mean! I get up later now (7 a.m. rather than 5:30 a.m.) and take more frequent breaks, but husband and I still put in full days and usually enjoy every minute. Don't you love the mind set of folks that say, "You're retired, you have time to volunteer, do this or that, help me, mind my kids, or be on call if I need you". NO is such a wonderful word . . . .
Thank heavens I rarely get asked questions like that ! I just say,, You got to be kidding !! II rarely even sit down until afternoon and not long then !
