My new Rinkneck Parakeet (Misty Jane) is doing really well. She can be grumpy at times, but mostly she is very nice. She doesn't like to be petted, but she steps up very well. I'm trying to bribe her to be petted with peanuts, it's kind of working, but she still doesn't like to be petted. I'm also very very new to bird ownership and am trying everything I know. She bites and grinds at my fingers when I try to pet her, but she loves the peanuts. I only reward her when she doesn't bite after I pet her. Am I doing something wrong or does she not like being petted. I'm just trying to teach her that it's ok and that I'm not going to hurt her. Also she is almost 4 months old,so could age have an impact?

Sounds good. Be patient with the little critter. How about a picture?
