For those of us that have daylight savings time. This is the weekend to set our clocks back 1 hour. Sure we're suppose to gain that extra hour of daylight but we loose an hour of sleep.
I'm looking forward to it this year.I'm tired of it getting dark before I'm ready to go in the house.Yep we do loose an hour but thats ok.
I like the fact it will stay light until almost 8 pm! Now if all this snow would just melt I could be out in the garden!
Sjoerd: help me out so that I can better understand. Will you be changing ahead 1 hour also as we did?
Gosh I heard about daylight savings etc. I never had to experience it myself and would probably not be able to cope. Please enlighten me. Do you have to set your clocks everyday, or just once?? For how long do you have to practice daylight savings?
We put the time one hour forward in spring, and then back again in autumn. The idea is to make afternoons and evenings lighter.
Palm Tree... we do not set the clocks every day. We change the time on the clocks once in the spring and once in the fall.
No, just the opposite. That way, 20.00 on my watch during summer will be 19.00 winter time, and if sunset is at 20.00 in winter time, we'll have sunset 21.00 in summer. Did I manage to confuse you even more now?
OK I think :?: I think that all I understand is that you gain daytime, but not really since you loose sleep time. I suppose I will have to experience it for myself before I would probably understand it.
We lose the hour in the spring when we set the clocks forward an hour, meaning the sun up later in the evening. We gain that hour back in the fall when we set the clocks back an hour bringing us back to having the sun go down earlier. As I understood it this was for farmers and such when it began because this is the time for planting and harvesting. If not then excuse me. Hope this helps.
