    As the Topic Heading reads,..Just An Experiment.

    Some pictures of the garden at present shown by way of a slide show program which i managed to get today for free,..normal cost is $100,..not sure i like it,..there are advantages and disadvantages but as its free and it will cost nothing if i dump it,.. tell me what you think of the program,..you can mention the blooms and the music,.. if you like,lol.

    It does seem to be on a roundabout.

    Well, it seems to be taking forever to load....just saying I probably wouldn't sit and just look at it when it takes too long for my tiny little ADHD mind to get through...just saying.... But as I finished typing this the music came on from the other window and the pictures are beautiful and the music was nice. BUT, I liked being able to click through the pictures instead of waiting for the fading in and out of the progress.

    Philip;
    I looked and as usual was very impressed with your pics...
    I'm always very reluctant to issue anything less than favorable/positive comments about someone else or their work, ('who am I to criticise?'), right? Nevertheless, at the risk of incurring your wrath, here are a couple of comments..
    1. The displayed size of your photos too small.
    2. The photos carousel through too fast; this problem solved by using mouse and stepping through one by one..
    3. I found no indication of number of photos, no START - END..
    Hoping that this is what you wanted in commentary..
    Hank

    Oh...and here I thought they were taking too long :rolleyes:. Maybe this is going to be like the pionolady's house poll.... :eek: we all have a different opinion and none of them are right or wrong, just our opinion.

    Maybe this isn't what you are looking for Philip. so tell us in more detail if it is/isn't. Carolyn

    Hi Carolyn,
    thank you for the response,..when i first clicked on the link i thought the waiting to load time was long but the second time i clicked and again later it was ready to view immediately.

    This information helps,..its what i was looking for.

    ====================================================

    Hi Hank,
    i agree i was also disappointed with the picture size,..its one of my pet dislikes,..i notice that horizontal pictures are best instead of vertical.

    I also agree the carousel is a tad too fast,..i might be able to do something about that.

    Another point i am in agreement with is the fact it doesn't indicate start or finish,..so if you dont have a good memory you could end up going the round twice.

    The only advantage so far is the fact its free,..and that what ever length of musical tune you select it plays non stop.

    Thank you for the comments,..lets see can some new garden blooms improve this.

    ====================================================

    I went back to the drawing board tried a few adjustments and at least managed to take pictures today suitable to fit the horizontal shape of the screen,..still not over the moon about this,..but take a look and comment.

    Note.
    One addition,..when the slideshow starts,..right click on the screen and click Zoom in,..you can move the screen around holding the left click down.

    Hi, Philip;
    Yes, much better... The horizontal display of the pics doesn't draw your attention to the small size like the vertical display, but I'm still a little miffed (is that a word?) about the size when you think in terms of percentage of available screen.. Your new technique of opening from currently viewed pic to the next one took care of the previously too fast progress, the click by click is still available to pause for lengthy study of individual pics.. You also seemed to incorporate a BEGIN/END function or maybe it was there all along and I just missed it..
    Good work, love your pics; has your weather warmed up enough to take the Jelly Fish out for a cruise, yet?

    Back to edit five minutes after posting; when I went back to the Forum to proof read my post, I noticed your closing note about zooming in...... So, I called the show back up and checked out the zoom in and that works great! ! !

    Hi Hank,
    thank you for the comments,..there is an improvement by ensuring i select horizontal pictures only and then the click on screen when the show starts to use the Zoom In,..i found this by accident though it slightly distorts the clarity of the pictures,..panning the picture around by holding the left click down is another discovery,..but as you say its strange the program only uses part of the screen available.

    Our weather is quite good at present,..it is Jelly Fish time but i spent over a week talking to the Taxman and lost out on some good days for waterworld.

    Those discussions with the Tax man can leave you unable to purchase fuel for Jelly Fish's engine!!

    Luckily he didn't squeeze anything out of me,..but it was touch and go,..though his parting shot was,..we may be in touch, :rolleyes: .

    About the Zoom and Panning,..it now has potential,..think of all the space i will save the Stew with less pictures posted and a link to a slideshow but not an embed, :) .

    Hi Deanna,
    better late than never,..funny that you should like the wallflower and the cat,..the cats name is "Reg",.. he has a twin brother on the loose in the USA if you come across him and you have a camera take a good shot.

    ======================================================

    Hi Carolyn,
    i think i have gone the limit with the size,..though i will have to post how to get the full screen image each time i post a slideshow,..luckily its a small instruction.

    Why bother doing any of this? Just create a video with MS Movie Maker (which is automatically installed on all Windows PCs, and so is totally for free also) - Therefore just make a video by sticking together all the pictures that you have, and upload it straight onto your YouTube account to share with everyone!

    It's actually very easy to do, as well as totally for free! :)

    Hi S-H,
    i already use YouTube for lenghty video and Photo Stories using Microsoft Photo Story 3,..notice the link in each of my posts,..granted there are a few short videos in there but generally i don't upload short videos/photostories to YouTube,.. all the background music had to be changed with the introduction of the new YouTube setup,..either using YouTube music available for free,..or YouTube Video Manager.

    As i post so many pictures in the Stew,Stumbleupon,Facebook and two or three other Forums its easier to post a slideshow,..many slideshows in fact,..using my own music and not that offered by YouTube,..so the slideshow is more personalized and the picture size is larger than the one reduced to forum size in the Stew.
