for the planting of peas, Winter arrived. I usually plant peas on or about the Ides of March. I need to set posts and stretch fencing. Wouldn't you know it, sub-zero windchills, snow, and then snain (my word for snow and rain at the same time) What might be the odds for actually planting on time? Anybody?

Major disappointment, but fortunately not a set-back. You'll have time to get your netting and stakes up before the Ides.
You can take this affirmation from a woman who planted her peas with raindrops falling on her. I hope you have better planting weather!

FBG--That weather sure has a way of getting in the way of the best laid plans. Wow I wish I could plant my peas in March. It is usually the first of May or later when I get our peas in the ground. That cold snap really reached far into the southern states this last time. As they say; This to shall pass,Hee,hee. Our temps are going to be in the high 30's today. Yahhhhh! :-D

Still, it's working out better for you than it did for Caesar. :)

I am assuming you are talking about English peas ? With luck we can get an early garden this year since we have had no winter to speak of. After last years drought all we are getting is rain and more rain. Wish some of these showers would wait till about July/August.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I grow sugar snaps. I trade with a friend what grows snow peas.

FBG, the weather is looking as if you may get to plant in March, just like you are hoping for. I don't think we are going to be getting much more sever weather this year...
