I just had to pop in and see how you were all doing. Guess I really am addicted to GardenStew. :-D Francis is still with us thank goodness. She was too weak on Tuesday for the hospital to go ahead with the rest of her radiotherapy but by Thursday morning she'd rallied enough for them to restart it. The course is now complete (5 treatments) and they have taken a scan to see how things are looking now. We'll have the results on Monday. Everyone is amazed by her will power and determination to stay with us for as long as she possibly can. Her two sons, their wives and their children all arrived safely. I think this has helped her to hold on too. Tom is coping quite well but, like the rest of us, is very tired from all the travelling backwards and forwards to Edinburgh. I'm having tomorrow afternoon here at home as my MIL is coming to visit and won't be put off but I'll probably drop in after we take her home to say goodnight to Francis. Thank you all for your messages they meant so much to me. You are very special people. I try to drop in again soon and let you know how things are. Until then.......... more love and hugs for you all.
Thanks for popping in Eileen and giving us an update. Francis sure does sound like one courageous and strong minded lady. She is in my thoughts these days (I have never met her but that doesn't matter to me). You are such such a thoughtful person Eileen, any person would be fortunate to have you as a friend.
Amen to that. Sometimes people just have a strong will to stay with us. Yesterday the lady down the street came walking in the rain to bring us some zucchini and an eggplant. She is 92 yrs old and struggling with stomach cancer. DR wanted to help her back down the street but she said, "I made it up here, I'll make it back." We stood at the gate and watched until she made it back home. I gave her a loaf of zucchini bread to take with her. Dooley
You know only God knows if its her time to leave this old world .My prayers and thoughts are with her and her family and friends and lets pray the treatments kills that cancer. My sister in law (Jubabes mom) died from cancer too, we do know how terrible it is .My thoughts are with you all.
She does sound like a very strong & determined lady. Now that all the treatments are done she will get stronger. Family & friends always helps with healing.
