I'm so glad I found GardenStew...it looks like a great place to spend time, with lots of blogs and pictures to look at. I hope to spend some of my free time here.

Most of the time I'm working, but when I'm not, I'm usually taking pictures of my flowers and tinkering around the garden. I grow roses, lavender, clematis, used to grow veggies but don't anymore.

    Anyway...hello, all!

Welcome Octavia. I too seem to spend more time working but do enjoy my flowers. A few of my favorites are Lady's Mantle, Yellow roses, Queen of the Prairie, Hostas - the list goes on and on.

Hi Octavia, glad to have you in the stew.

I like roses, daylilies, canna lilies, and growing annuals from seed. I also like to root plants, therefore increasing my never-ending lust for more flowers. DH says one day we won't have any grass to mow and I tell him that is my aim.

Glad to meet you, Octavia! Nice name. I rarely grow many veggies either, but the lavender and flowers are wonderful. Enjoy looking around!

    Thanks for your welcome!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. I'm happy to be in the stew. :)

I forgot to mention that the main reason I started growing roses and lavender was that my slugs don't bother them. This is slug country around here!

Gave up the slug battle years ago and only grow things they don't have an appetite for...it's much easier on me.
