    4 years ago. Running around putting container on picnic table had waders on. poking hole in ground so would drain faster.Now lawn brown and will water again-the flowers.River in some places 20 feet over flood stage. Dh bringing camera to take pictures of Iowa River. Yesterday cattle in middle drinking

    Quite a change from four years ago. Thank goodness everything dried out.

    Glad you saved your garden from the flood, and now you're saving it from the drought. Gardening ain't easy, ever!

    It is amazing to see and have the difference and not be able to do a thing about it. This year it is as dry as last year was wet. I think we had rain everyday for almost a year except for two weeks in the summer (maybe) and then it got so hot and quit raining that when it that when it rained all the tomatoes cracked and the blossoms dropped off and they were ugly for the rest of the summer. This year the tomatoes down in the same field, different spot, ALL have BER, the cukes are so bitter you could use them as an anti poisoning additive, the peppers all have BER and sunburn and the corn is spotty pollinated IF it even filled out. the beans are alive but not producing anything :( :eek: . It hasn't been this dry since 1988.

    Got to watch where you walk outside-sink holes. where we had bad storm in 98-filled the area where trees root ball was. Going to have fill it again.

    Yes that is so amazing and frustrating. Now if one could have saved some of that water for this hot and dry summer that would have been great. :stew1:
