One of my brothers just recently retired and has been giving his front yard a makeover. Pruned, weeded, new flower beds, borders etc. There has been this swing out there for years! He said it was too ugly now for the new front yard and brought it here to the house.

Told him all it needed was some paint. And since he refuses to do ANY painting, I said I'd paint it and bring it back to him. He declined saying it would just take away from all of his new pretty work.
Okay. Fine with me. (Like I'd turn down a swing!)
Plus he even brought over the cushions which look like they've never been sat on!
So here it is, after some sanding and a few cans of paint.

I tried to get Sassy Marie, the dog, to sit there to pose, but I think she thought she'd get in trouble for getting on the "new" cushions! :D
This is the view "looking out". I think I have a new favorite place to sit!

Fantastic Cheryl, it looks great, a super place to sit, enjoy the day and the garden. It is amazing what a little elbow grease and some paint will do. Since Texas is not getting any rain right now, you do not have to worry about the cushions getting wet. It would be nearly impossible not to enjoy your swing. I am sure you will. :smt023

You are so lucky Cheryl. How could anyone pass that up. I like your view very much.

Expect me tomorrow Cheryl. After all you'll need someone to test out that gorgeous swing for you won't you? :D :D
You've done a superb job and the whole thing looks as though it's just stepped out of a garden showroom.
    Congratulations. :smt041 :smt041

Hi Cheylad, That looks great. Looks like a relaxing place to sit. It looks so nice I'm afraid your brother might come take it back. You might want to get yourself a big dog to guard it now.lol

Hahaha....Cheryl--you have that swing sitting in exactly the right spot--you can look out over your domein like some kind of green-queen,--the lord and master of your gardens.

I have thought of getting one of those for my lottie. I would like to have one, but I know that I honestly don't have the room. Tch!

Thanks everyone. I'm afraid my big protective dog loves to see my brother coming... so I don't think she'd stop him from taking it back! :D

Sjoerd... I like the sound of "green-queen of the garden"! :D

You did a good job on the swing. Like you, I'd never turn it down. Enjoy it and please remember to sit down from time to time.

I have a swing in the back yard next to a cedar tree. It the mornings it is nice and sunny, but in the afternoon when it's hot, the tree puts it in shade. Our cat used to set on it and swing with me before he passed on.

I saw an add just yesterday for a russian wolfhound. Are you interested? (You need one that doesn't know him). I think they get REALLY big.

    Droopy...
It came in very handy for the several breaks I had to take when fixing up the Lily Bed!

    Capt...
My dog loves to sit and swing with me. I'll probably be able to coax her to join me again... hopefully!

    Carolyn...
Think I'll have to pass on the wolfhound! :D
I don't think he'll take it back. What I think is this will give him an excuse to go out and buy a new one!
