It's far too early for me to find ladybirds (that's what we call them here in Scotland) in my garden but, when the time comes, I hope I find plenty of them to help combat the aphids. Superb photograph!! Thanks for sharing it with us. :-D
I saw the first one of this year yesterday. It was on a yellow flower. I really like them. When I was working with kids we always had a story about them in the spring and we made them out of paper plates. Kids love to have them crawl on their arms. Last year we had a ton of them in the yard, like an invasion. Then, one day they just moved on somewhere else. dooley

They frequently come and land on us when we're sitting on the beach, especially in Virginia (south of MD). Sometimes one will sit for an hour.
That is an awesome shot. Sure make the bug look big. I had an infestation last year, inside and outside of my house. I didn't like them so much then! :-x
I do love your great photos .There is usually thousands in my yard and outside and inside in Texas and die all over the place.I still love to see them om my plants.
Out of curiousity -- do you spend a lot of time composing and setting up a shot or is your process more spontaneous? How long have you been a photographer? And what type of camera do you use? Your photos are all interesting and lovely.
