I was at my friend's today and she had an orphan lamb she was bottle raising. The bottle babies are funny little things. They don't know they are lambs and they follow their humans around like they would thier own mothers.

I was reminded of the the little orphan pictured with a litter of pups. His name is Hector and he is now a three year old ram weighing around 200lbs He still can be called like a dog and jumps up on the back of the gator(small tractor) to go for a ride which he really seems to enjoy.

A ram that thinks he's a dog - love it. :-D Just don't let him jump up on all the visitors with his muddy feet.

Very sweet picture Muddy. I have bottle raised dogs and cats, they are totally different from the ones raised by the mom. Lucky is so human it is scary and so are Bubba and Tiny. I gave a whole litter of pups a supplemental bottle twice a day bc there were too many of them, 10, for the mom to feed. We had them in a walk in closet. When I would sit on the floor of the closet they would quit nursing on mom and come to me for their bottle. I would have loved the opportunity to bottle raise a lamb.

Muddy we have a few motherless lambs at home at the moment that my Mom has to look after. We refer to them as 'bob-lambs'. There is never a year that you don't have at least one or two of the little guys.

What a wonderful photograph Muddy. It always amazes me how different species of animal will adopt others offspring without any qualms at all. I've never raised orphan lambs but I did once raise a baby hedgehog. We found him trying to feed from his flattened mum at the side of a road. Cute little thing and he followed us everywhere until his release. Also raised numerous baby birds.

That is so sweet Muddy! A friend of ours had a goat that he hand raised and he thought he was a dog! When you drove into his driveway, Billy (the goat) and his German Shepherd would come out and greet you!
