I just love Lantana. It grew practically wild where I lived before (near by job which is zone 9). I dug up some and planted it when I moved to the house (zone 8. Didn't make it. Blamed it on me. Bought a few more kinds from the store and only the purple trailing one has survived. Blamed it on the location I planted it.
Yesterday, the grocery store had shrubs out for 3 for $10. The only thing that struck my fancy were the Lantanas. They had two types. I did an internet search and read that the Athens Rose was hardy from zone 8-11. So I decided to try again.

I think I'll plant 2 of them in different locations and keep the other for the plant sale in August.
    Here I go again.... :fingerscrossed:

I hope that you will have success with these this time.

I can't grow them in my garden, but I would so like to be able to.

    They are really lovely flowers.

Yep Toni... tried it twice. Maybe it was just the location. Maybe a little too much water?

Too much water would be my guess, they are drought tolerant to the point of not liking to be too watered once established. Mine is out back where it gets full morning sun til about noon then shade the rest of the day and only watered once a week because of water restrictions but even then only from the very edge of the sprinkler since it is planted with Turk's Cap and Dianthus, neither of which like much water either.

I think I have a good spot for it near the succulent/cactus bed... out of the way where water drains through.
