I was over talking to Joe this morning and looking at his large irises. I ask if I could take pictures to share them with you. The first is a bronze iris. I had never seen one this color.

The next few are purple. A lighter shade than ours. He waters them every day. He says lots of water is what makes them grow so tall and big.

The last are yellow ones that he just planted last year.

Oops! There is one more that is a different color, too. Joe hadn't noticed it before now.

Hope you enjoyed the iris show. dr

You pictures are wonderful.Brings back memories of when i was in school, my mom had a bed of iris's ,i use to pick them and take to my 3rd grade teacher. I got a nice light blue iris my mom has that smells like grape kool-aid.

Sorry about the first picture. The camera changed the color a lot. In person the flower was a lot more bronze.

Those are very lovely. Iris are well beloved in this part of the country. I have the color problem when I photograph my Japanese iris for some reason.

    Amazing!
Makes me blush  about the few little flowers that I get from mine.

I don't think they appreciate the acid soil and shady conditions.

Those iris are simply lovely. Joe is right iris's love water and grow taller the more they get. Mine aren't nearly as far forward as his so it was a real pleasure to see them all here today.

Beautiful Iris photos! They are quickly climbing to the top of my favorite flower list! I have some here but won't see blooms for a while yet.
