My husband walked a dear friend down the isle and gave her away at a chapel in Las Vegas NV. I won't mention the number of the wedding, but will say third time is the charm. We had a good time and since neither my husband nor I see the purpose of gambling (probably because we always loose) made time for several sight seeing trips around the area. Here are a just a few photos from the Red Rock National Park. I was totally intrigued with the plant life. This very arid region that gets barely 5 inches of rain annually is much different than the rain forest of the coastal Pacific Northwest where we live. All that bare ground simply doesn't happen here.

I'll be sharing a few more photos when I find the time. We also visited a state park called Valley of Fire and a much too short visit to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Jewell--What a totally different landscape than the Pacific Northwest! You must be wonderstruck. My husband & I also retreated from the casinos to Red Rock Nat'l Park after a Las Vegas wedding. The landscape is so different from the Northeast (or Northwest) but beautiful just the same.

I look forward to more photos & hope you are having a great time. We were there during the desert spring & we were surprised to see so much in bloom.

We don't have magnificent scenery like that over here in Scotland. I would have been enthralled with the plant life too. I look forward to seeing more photographs later Jewell. :-D

It is a beautiful sight. Do bad you didn't get to see more of the Grand Canyon.
