Now that fall is officially here, I don't have very many flowers that are left but here are the few I have: Sedum gladiolas Can you see what is inside this flower? I know its really hard to see in this picture but theres a bumble bee inside. Look at what found its way in the middle of the weeds and my glads. One morning glory-must have come from last year, only I don't remember having any pink just blue,.. hmm hibiscus I moved some of my cleomes to the back door side And lastly do you remember, this summer when I put in a new little flower garden it looked like this: I have put in some dianthuses, violets, some lavender, a verbena, purple cleomes, one of my goldenrods, a trumpet plant, a few sunflowers, There's still room for plenty more but I'm hoping some things will spread out next year and fill in. I'd also like something different in the front instead of the rocks. I'd like to hear some of your suggestions. Thanks for looking.
Geez Petunia, for just being whats left, they sure are beautiful end of the season flowers. I really like that hibiscus,,it looks different from what i have seen before.... Very very nice!!
I wouldn't mind still having that amount of colour in my garden Petunia. Sadly nearly everything here is gone - even the leaves on the trees are disappearing.
Lovely pinks and whites, you've still got lots left I'd say. I like your little border. New plantings always look so tiny, and suddenly they've grown way too big.
Well Petunia...you did really good--and the remaining flowers that you have are showing their stuff. I liked the perfect-looking white Hibiscus and the pink-rimed white glads--perhaps because I have the same ones. heh heh heh. That little flower plot really turned out well, didn't it? You asked for suggestions--but it's hard to think of any. I could suggest the Lychnis coronaria. Alsi I have tried planting flower plots with singler plants, but I found that planting groups (clumps) of say, three of the same plants give me a better effect--and some flowers need to be fertilized to make seeds and self propagate. That's why I tend to never plant just one of any sort o0f plant. Sorry that I couldn't offer more suggestions--I reckon it just looks too good. Oh, I almost forgot to ask--which verbena do you have in that plot?
Sjoerd, my flower stake reads a trailing verbena hybrida. (pink) I can take a closer pict if that would help. I guess I was hoping it would spread but sadly I think that it is only an annual. Thanks for everyones comments.
