There is a better than even chance that by Thursday morning my big pot of red Geraniums will be but a memory. Temps are forecast to be down around freezing during the night on Wednesday.
With the almost summer like temps we have been having my Geranium is still putting out new leaves but these appear to be the final blooms for this year.

Do you bring yours in for the winter? Mine are in my greenhouse now, still putting out some pink blossoms. Lovely color you have!

I really want to put them out in the backroom if I can. The tub is huge and very heavy but I am hoping we can get it moved tomorrow afternoon.

This weekend my bloom house will have a light in it so I am hoping to store it there over the winter.

Gee Toni, you just reminded me that I stuffed my red Geraniums into my garden shed last week! I'd better go see if they are still OK and bring them inside!
I love that red...it really slaps you in the face. When I planted 4 of mine into pots, the Hummers couldn't even wait for me to get them planted...there was one hovering at the one I was holding! I missed a great Kodak moment for sure.

Oh what a wonderful splash of colour Toni!! Geraniums are such lovely plants as they have such a long flowering season. I've fallen in love with one that I saw earlier in the year. It's blooms are burgandy with white centres - yet another 'must have.'

I hope Toni's geraniums will continue to flower indoors, and that Toni will share them all through winter. I love red flowers.

If you cant overwinter them in the soil, you can pull them out after the blooms fade, but before a freeze, shake the soil off, hang them upside down in a paper bag, and in the spring pot them back up. Or take some clippings and pot them in smaller, movable pots, and keep them on a windowsill till spring.

Absolutely brilliant colour on your Geranium Toni.

Boy, we are still quite lucky. I do not have to make a decision as to whether to bring geraniums indoors to save it from the elements. And this fact made me realize just how lazy I got  over the years and taking my Geraniums for granted. Leaving them to their own devices for two years now.
