I lost some of my shrubs this year. All my butterfly bushes are gone. Even the tips of my irises were nipped by frost. The first leaves of my rhubarb were frozen.

The hummingbirds arrived on May first like last year.

Wow! For you everything comes on at once. So nice seeing the Daffs and tulips. Both have come and gone at different times here and now the little iris are blooming like yours. I love seeing your beauties :stew1:

Hi Donm, Our timing is just about the same. We have all the same kind as you. The rain smashed the Daffodil a few days ago but they are still there.

    Looking good in your garden!!!

I miss my cheery Daffs, they have been gone since March. Of the dozens of Daffs and Tulips I have planted over the last 3 years, only 1 Tulip and about 10 Daffs still try to put on a show for me in Feb or March. So I will enjoy yours and remember our Spring as our temp climbs up to 90+ today.

Most of my daffodils are past now but I still have some tulips in flower. It's so nice to see that you have so much colour in your garden despite the losses you suffered due to frost.

My spring flowers have gone now and I'm working on getting some summer ones planted. Stores still seem to have more spring stuff. I'll have to start from seeds maybe.

Donm - don't be too quick to think your Butterfly Bushes are dead. One year I dug mine out thinking it was dead and what do you know ... they came to life on my compost pile! They are usually one of the last things to come up here, watch for bottom growth. Be patient!

Don, give the BB a hard pruning. They may be okay at the bottom. I don't think I have ever seen iris and daffodils blooming at the same time. have you?. Yours are looking great.

I started my roy rogers? zinnias this past week and they are coming up. thanks!
