It isn't very big Eileen and all it consists of is sewing the 4 strips of fabric together, cutting the long strips into squares and joining them into the pattern.Ta

That is a cool looking runner. I love the strip quilting method.
http://www.quiltinaday.com/ Eleanor Burns has been teaching strip quilting for 25-30 years, I used to watch her TV program every week. It is such an easy and fast way to get piecing done and once you start doing it you don't want to go back to cutting and sewing the old way again. ;)

Wow that looks so nice. You did a great job. It is amazing all the How-to videos that are on You-tube.Have you ever tried using the fuse able webbing that you iron on the back of your fabric. It is double sided so you can then iron it onto whatever background fabric you like. No sewing required. I bet you-tube has some video on that. It is amazing what people make with just using a scissors, fabric and the iron on webbing. Now that I mentioned it I will have to check that out to see if it is on You-tube.

    Thank you :p

I have some of the fusible web somewhere in my stash but have yet to use it.Applique isn't something I've tried yet.I'm almost certain there will be something on You-Tube as there seems to be just about everything else. ;)

Wonder Under was the original paper backed fusible webbing, came out in the late 1980's, I believe. I was working at Cloth World...now Joann's...and we couldn't keep it in stock. When a new shipment arrived, it was all gone by the next day.

Then sometime in 1989 we couldn't get it any longer, some one told our store manager that there had been a fire at the manufacturing facility and it would be months before full production could resume. I wasn't working there any more by the time the supply picked up again, but I have bought enough over the years to wish I had bought stock in the company too. ;)

Just do a google.com search...there are tutorials on line on how to use it...and probably the other brands too.

Kiasmom, I wouldn't use it for applique where you turn under the edges of the fabric. But it is great for doing decorative machine or hand stitching around the design without turning under the edges. I used to do a lot of satin stitch machine applique and blanket stitch machine and hand and the Wonder Under makes that much easier.
