    I found a great place for info on harvesting lavender

    There are pictures to show the exact way the flowers should look to get the strongest fragrance when you harvest. I always find that tricky...and soon it will be time to do so. Check it out.

    That's a very helpful website Chitweed. I don't have enough lavender plants (8) to make it worth my while to gather and dry the blooms so I leave them for the bees. I'm sure there will be quite a few of our members who will appreciate knowing when the flowers are at their best for picking though. :-D

    What a great site - the lavender timing was very cool, reminded me of all the photos we took of opening birch leaves for one of my kid's science projects. My own lavender may be beyond its best already, I fear, but there's always next year... I ended up wandering the site and also loved the fake sushi made of twinkies, lol.. thanks for the link.
