Last month my lovely husband and I celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary and Mark treated us to a little bit of luxury with an overnight stay in this fabulous hotel which is owned by Raymond Blanc. Have a look here to read more about it: http://www.manoir.com/web/olem/le_manoir.jsp We knew about the hotel and restaurant as we had dinner there 5 years ago but we knew nothing about the fabulous gardens until now. The pictures I have posted today are only half and the others will come by the end of the week. Let me show you round The first view of the Manoir as you leave the car park. Our first view of Le Manoir ( photo / image / picture from Kiasmum's Garden ) There are statues everywhere. Some are enormous like this one and others are much smaller ( photo / image / picture from Kiasmum's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Kiasmum's Garden ) My back would be in serious trouble if I tried to use this.. ( photo / image / picture from Kiasmum's Garden ) The gardens are entirely organic and everything is done to attract bees and other pollinators. Monarda everywhere and very happy bees. ( photo / image / picture from Kiasmum's Garden ) The Japanese Garden is so beautiful and tranquil and is constructed around a pond originally dug in the late 16th Century. Now that's my kind of place!! What beautiful gardens and the sculptures are wonderful. A really lovely way to spend your 30th anniversary. :-D HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU BOTH and here's to the next 30 years.
Quite interesting to see your piccies of this garden. I have seen it on a BBC special last year, I think it was. Of course there was a lot of talking and interviews, but I do recall the gardens. I am looking forward to your next bolus of foto's. One of these days I am going to come over there and spend a few days visiting interesting gardens. There are so many....and I am not even mentioning the "Yellow Book". Thanks for this lovely display.
