This is a pic of my lupine that used to stand upright, until I got 1/2 inch of rain last night. The flower spike is 18 inches long and isn't filled out all the way yet. This is the biggest one we have had on it, and we have had the plant for 2 years.

A lovely colour such a pity the rain bent it over. It may come upright again as long as there's not another downpour.

I went out and propped it up after I took the pic. Also found a new spike coming up on it. Last year it put out a total of 3 spikes, will it top that record this year?

I noticed this morning that it was down again after I had propped it up. Took a look at it and it got so heavy, it fell over and snapped the stem. It measured at 22 inches for the spike. The second spike isn't showing any color yet.
