It started on my chocolate mint. It got brown spots in the middle of the plant then the whole middle turned brown and now it is affecting the new growth. It started to happen on my peppermint. And now my whole golden crinkled oregano plant is almost completely brown. I know it is not a mineral or npk deficiency. Could it be a bug or virus or something? All of these plants are in pots.

    brown spots

Did the stem turn brown/black or just the leaves? In our damp northwest, there is a leaf spot that is a fungus or mold, and very hard to treat. Need to remove all leaves with spots very carefully and throw away, do not let any leaves stay on the ground. I would recommend talking to a plant expert at your local nursery immediately to find out. My personal recommendation if it is the black spot, is to get rid of the plants if they are not special, clean out the pots with boiling water, and restart.
I lost a beautiful 7 year old rosemary bush, partially due to this, and been hacking away at several plants down to their new growth for the past 2 years now.

Is this near where you sprayed with defoliant?
