I have seeds left over from last year, they are tomatoes, eggplant, and onions. Should they still germinate, and what is the general shelf life of seeds?

They should still be viable I think Melissa. I've kept seeds for a couple of years and they've still germinated for me. Good luck!! :-D

I agree with Eileen Melissa. I've used even older seeds without a problem.

Most seeds will keep(and germinate) from 3-5 years. Keep them cool and dry. Cool doesnt have to be refrigerator cool, just dont put them where they'll get hot and cook. Just sew a couple extra in case i 1 or 2 dont sprout.

I agree - I was given a container of a wildflower mix three or four years ago and shake a bit of it on a small flowerbed area each spring. It's still germinating just fine, though thankfully this year should finally use it up.

I've germinated 10 year old Tomato seeds.
Not sure about eggplant (don't grow it).
Onion is questionable after 1-2 years. It goes downhill exceptionally quick. But since they are last years, should be fine
