https://www.ad.nl/video/octopus-wordt-verwend-met-cadeau~p184532 So then, what is going on here is an octopus was given a large piece of lego which was filled with ice cubes that had mussels and shrimp in it. The challenge was to see if the animal could figure out a way to get the lego piece open.
It wouldn`t play for me ! I clicked on OK I think and it came on with just a flash pic of the octopus but no video ! Just darned news and couldn`t read it !
Hi Mart, i klikked on the little arrow in the middle of the video and it worked for me. I will wait and see if anyone else can get it to work. If not then I must try and find a fix for it. So sorry that it doesn’t work for you.
It worked for me Sjoerd. I love to watch octopus getting in (and out) of situations. They do love to work things out and are super intelligent creatures it's just a pity that most don't live for more than a year. (Except the giant octopus which can live until it's five years old.) There's a great film that I watched recently called 'My octopus teacher' that I would recommend.
That was great Sj! It looked like the octopus was going to try to swallow the lego whole! I've heard they are very smart creatures. I also got a kick out of seeing the Norwegian words across the screen. Some looked remarkably like English. Is that the common Germanic root to both languages? And, great caption BTW. eileen, I did not know that about the life span of Octopi. My Octopus Teacher? I just googled it, looks interesting!
Glad you liked the vid Eileen. Glad it worked for you. I shall look up that film of which you spoke. Cayu— glad the vid worked for you as well. I just don’t know why it won’t work for Mart, darn it. I am not sure if Scandinavian are technically germanic languages. I know that Dutch is. We have trhavelled in Scandinavia and we watch Scandinavian films on the telly and I hear many words that we use. Not similar, but exactly the same. It uncanny. ..or rather history. I have always thought that it was because of the presence of Danish, Norwegian and perhaps Swedish in our country way back when. These people also inhabited parts of the British isles and there are linguistic leftovers there as well in real english. BTW...I did not see an Norwegian on that vid. Where did you see it? There are also many dutch words that are found in Scottish. It is all very interesting for those interested in language. Thank you for that closing compliment.
Oops. Sj my ignorance is showing. Either that or my early onset dimentia. You know those countries that begin with 'N'. Netherlands, Norway. Over there across the pond, with citizens who tend to be fair haired, sturdy, hard working types? Oops. Sorry.
Not all dutch folks are fair- haired...don’t forget we were occupied by spain for more than 80 years and there was intermarriage or relations of some sort.
That's true of Ireland I am told:. the black Irish from Spain. Makes me curious about what's in my gene pool. Anybody have their genetic makeup analyzed?
