I wanted to share some photos I took after a blizzard last year...
The log structure is my potting shed (we moved my great uncle's 150 log home and put it back together here). We keep it heated to 45 degrees F, and I'm able to overwinter a few annuals.
Also a pic of my outhouse (built back in the 1930's)...it's a 2-seater and we recently replaced the floorboards which were rotten so no one would fall through when they stepped inside!
The bear is made from chicken wire filled with spaghnum moss and has been in my yard for almost 10 years now. Each spring I need to refill with moss, as the birds like to use it in their nests each year. I've got a few other chicken wire "sculptures" in the yard also including a monkey hanging from a tree. You'll also see the log arbor in that shot that my husband made me for my birthday one year. I'm trying to get some vines established now to grow up the sides of it.
Here's a link to view a slideshow after this beautiful snowstorm:

Kasey, If you want a vine that grows like crazy try "Silver Lace". I've bought a few from our local nursery through the years and they are phenomenal!! Only cost about $5.00 and they thrive in zone 6 ;)
My husband won't let me plant them too close to the house because he's afraid they will tear up the shingles. Kind of slow the first year but after that you had better watch out!

I love the log cabin...such a great idea to use it as a potting shed. Your dogs look like they love to play in the snow too...

I am jealous of the potting shed too, it is wonderful. Is that a Newfoundland, he is awesome and what is the other dog. They look happy in the snow.

Yes, he's a Newf, and he's the third one we've had. Lots of hair, but he gives big hugs! The other one is a Golden Retriever...he never goes anywhere without a frisbee in his mouth.

I just made it home and had to drive through rain, sleet, hail and finally snow before I got to my driveway. It sounds like we're in for quite a storm and temps will fall to well below zero F by tomorrow morning with high winds. Brrr...
