Our local health centre has sent this e-mail to all people of retirement age, suggesting activities that might be of interest, including this.

Couch to 5k 9 week beginners course starts Thurs 9 Jan 6.30pm

This seems pretty close to "provocative therapy" as you can get.

I'll give it a miss and stick to playing golf.

Yikes that’s a huge expectation, I couldn’t do 5k if ya paid me… and I’m no couch tater…the huge impact on mature bones and joints and …OH wait is that running or walking..? Either way they would have to have several benches laid out on the way for short naps.. I think from 75 yrs of age and on up should be exempt. That includes Riley and myself around here… and any other takers…? I have hired tree trimmers and they could not keep up with me and they were less than half my age. I’m not bragging just different strokes for different folks is my message.

Or better yet maybe some of those guys that came up with that program should have their heads examined. And visit us hard working gardeners and see if they could keep up with us. There’s different ways of staying in shape.
