Lilac flower with red star shape inside

    I am new to all this gardening stuff, and want to grow this plant but don't know what it is called! Can somebody please help me and tell me the name of it and maybe some tips about growing the plant.

    It looks like it would be just beautiful before it started to wilt. Do you b y chance have a pictre of the rest of the plant so we can see what the foliage looks like. It reminds me of a hibiscus but I am not sure that is what it is.

    My first thought was Hibiscus also. And yes... I'm sure a photo of the plant and/or leaves would help with the ID. It sure is a beauty!

    No I found the flower on the floor so have no idea what the rest of the plant looks like sorry.

    Well why dont you go back to the place were you found it on the floor and ask them what it is. :D

    If you no longer have the flower take the picture in to them.

    it's probably one of the Hibiscus syriacus kinds. nothing special about it around here... lots of hedges are made of these around apartment buildings.
