Love the Lily hedge. I have a few around the base of my weeping willow but they don't seem to multiply a lot. At our former home they took over on both sides of the house. We refer to them as ditch lillies because that seems to be where they are seen along the roadside in ditches. I am envious of the trees along the back of your property - ours is a wide open field - you can see for a mile. The other lillies are also beautiful. Polly
I just noticed that the pictures are mislabeled. Yes these are "ditch lillys" but my mom always called them Tiger lillys. These cane from in a ditch at my Mothers house. Years ago, I planted a single row of the bulbs and now they are 4 ft wide.
Nice lilies, I am always looking to trade, let me know if you have some of those for trade, I have several nice pinks and a really nice peach that just outdoes itself every year. In fact, it is still blooming.
Gorgeous lilies, Capt Kirk. They're my favorite flower and this year I finally planted a few, two Samur lillies and three Asiatic. Eventually, I hope to have an entire bed devoted to lilies and other bulbs. Prairie Lily
Lovely pics! Question for all you lily lovers. Are Day Lilies the same as reg lilies? If Im allergic to Day lilies, what are the chances I would be allergic to those kinds lilies above? Or tiger lilies? I just love lilies!
Daylilies are of the Hemerocallis genus, while the others (American, Oriental, Asiatic) are of the genus Lilium. Daylilies are not lilies, so I'd give it a try.
