The Lily of the Nile was really strutting her stuff today! This is it's 2nd year at the house. I think it likes it.

Beautiful flower...where did you purchase the rock/stone with a name on it? Interesting...

Thanks everyone. I'm hoping to get some seeds from it this year so I can start some more. They're a tad pricey to buy.

Sherry... regarding the rock/stone. When you purchase your plot in the church's cemetery, you get this marker with your name on it. Once that times comes... well.... when you get your headstone placed, the marker will be removed. This was my Mom's. They didn't have fancy one's like this back in my Dad's time... so he just had a small metal one. We placed it next to his big ol' bbq pit.
Since she enjoyed tending the flower beds around the porch... we placed her marker there as a "tribute".
And we're not alone in doing this... others around here do the same thing. Some people who preset their headstone... like my aunts... already have their markers at home in their flower beds... with their husband's alongside.

(P.S. I blurred out our last name... just for internet security reasons)

Your Lily of the Nile is gorgeous! Here we would have to grow them in pots since they're not hardy.

I like your headstone marker too. What a nice way to keep your loved ones around you.
