Lima beans

    My lima beans are starting to produce. Do I pick them green or let them dry on the vine. Thanks.

    Yes! You can pick limas at the green pod stage and enjoy "baby limas"--oh so delicious. Then you can let the pods hang on the plant until they turn yellow and the beans dry. Harvest the dried beans and spread them out for a day or two (just to get rid of any residual moisture) and save for future use.

    Mine Limas are starting also. I pick some for canning and save the later ones for drying on the vines. That's very easy. I do that with all beans that I grow.
