The little red squirrel has become a frequent visitor this winter...I think he thinks he owns the tray feeder. I saw him chase the black squirrel away twice today...

In that case he does own the tray. The Black squirrel will have to get his own.
They are a lot cuter than grey squirrels. We have one that lives in a birdhouse during the winter.

Ahhh, he's a cute little fella! My Jack Russell keeps all the squirrels out of our yard.

Awww isn't he just the most beautiful little creature? I'd let him stay here any day - especially if he'd chase away the greys we have.

He is a male and doesn't realize he is so much smaller than the other squirrels....just like my poodle that chased a german shephard out of our yard years ago......that big dog could of had her for lunch..

All of the squirrels seem to come at the same time...I guess no one has taught them to take turns...

He's so cute! All we have are the lazy grey squirrels. They still haven't picked up the pecans we left for them.

Sherry8 yup they sure are cute. We had a female raise a litter in one of our Wren houses. After they got bigger she moved them out to a summer nest. Then the kit's came and played in our yard chasing each other up and down the trees. :-D So fun to watch.
:'( We do not have very many of them around here now. We have a neighbor who has an open garage and set's up a live trap in there to keep the critters out. :'( Mostly the red squirrels. He then shoots them :'( :'(
I suggested that he put a door on his garage and the squirrels wouldn't be able to get in there. DAH!!!
But he say's it's cheaper to just do away with the squirrels. :-x :-x
We hadn't seen a red squirrel since before Christmas. :'( But today one was up on my deck checking out our feeder. :D I gave her a strict lecture about not going over to the guy's house next door.
Two years ago one of the Red squirrels got into the ceiling of his garage and stored 150 walnuts up there. :D :D He thought one corner of the ceiling tiles was drooping and pulled it down only to have the nuts fall out all over him. :D :D
We also have Fox squirrels that come to our feeders that the neighbor does not shoot. I am so happy about that. :stew1:

Tooty2shoes...I had to laugh when you said nuts fell down on your neighbor...I can't believe people thinking critters aren't going to go in their garages when they leave the doors open...we have quite a few neighbors that do it and then do nothing but complain when something goes wrong when they go in and explore. Even in the cold winter at night the doors are open inviting mice and what not in....one neighbor I used to live by had a cat bed down in there and then when she picked the cat up and touched it all over...she got some type of disease from it and so did her little dog. Quite a few weeks of medicine for both of them and it was expensive...I think it was ringworm..
