Earlier this year I pulled weeds and grass out of the roses bushes and put compost and mulch around them. I noticed this past week they had buds but thought it would be awhile until they bloomed. But, today there were a few out. They are the old fashioned single petal roses. They smell great.

I did notice that they had a few leaves with black spot so I will pull them off tomorrow and spray the bushes with milk. That should take care of it. I'm sorry if the pictures are a bit blurry. It was windy when I was trying to take them. dooley

They are beautiful, I am so looking forward to my rose blooming but like Eileens mine are just twigs, but they have a few short new growths on, so there is a glimmer of hope there.
