Hi! Can anyone here give me some advice on storing my dahlia tubers? I dug them out of a bed since I’m taking that raised bed out and was surprised that I had such a pile! I wanted to dig them out before they sprouted in spring. There must be a half a wheelbarrow full. I don’t want to lose them to desiccation or give them away because I’m planning a new home for them in the future. There are too many for pots. I don’t want to store them over a winter (after all spring is almost here), I want to store them over spring without them sprouting. Every website and YouTube video explains how to store them in boxes with newspaper or vermiculite over the winter season, but I’m in the reverse. I thought of a fridge, but I don’t have a spare. Any ideas on how to store them and keep them from sprouting when it gets warmer in my garage? Thanks!
In a box as advised but use sand and keep in a shed. https://www.gardenersworld.com/how-to/grow-plants/how-to-lift-and-store-dahlias2/ K
