Last night, my wife "worked" the 8th grade graduation & dance. She got home well after my daughter and I had fallen asleep. I woke up at 6:30 and found this in the front yard: We got "rolled", or "TP'd". I was not looking forward to removing all this darn toilet paper, but then, 3 younger kids came by & rang the doorbell to tell me, we'd been "rolled". I hired them to remove it all (Gee, I hope they're not the ones, who did it!) I teased them, that if they used my ladder, I was going to charge them rent for it.
Our house was 'papered' once when our oldest daughter was in high school. We had a yard full of really large Catalpa trees and the culprits did a very good job of covering even the top of them.
Wow,, I don't understand,,,why would they do that? But i guess the bright side is they didn't damage all those beautiful flowers or spray paint anything.
I have seen ALOT worse! Around here, the kids have "Junior/Senior" wars, and get each other with T/P. Luckily, we have never been hit. All the kids at school know DH is crazy. (Good crazy!!!) LOL
What a mess! :-x I have never been 'rolled', but I have 4 neices/nephew in same family. As each child went through HS they had several 'rollings' each. SIL said they heard that if you light each end with a match/lighter, it will burn the paper straight up. I'm sure it didn't completely get rid of the paper, but sure helped.
Well all I can say is that I'm glad there's nothing like that happens here!! I would be really angry if someone messed with my garden. Thank goodness it was just toilet paper and the weather was dry. It would have been a horrible soggy mess if it had rained and the TP had stuck to everything. :-x
fun.......is going thru their minds here the local stores decided to stop selling eggs and toilet papper in large quantities late at night ....
When my 3 boys were in jr. high there were girls that would always come TP our trees on the weekend. It meant they liked them..lol. I used to take a lighter and burn what I could. It works..just make sure the tree or grass isnt real dry. You wont have huge flames or anything because the TP turns to ash as soon as it burns.
Around here most times the homeowners give permission to roll others houses. Parents have been known to get in on rolling to. Usually when a big ball game is coming up.
rolled I know the kids rolling our house was not malicious, but I was angry, because I didn't have time to clean that up myself. Since I hired the 3 younger boys to do it, I didn't have to. But at the swimming pool later that day, my wife saw some of her students & asked about the incident. She got silly grins & giggles - and apparently the whole town knew about it. I told 3 8th-grade girls, I offered a cash reward for information which actually led to the perpetrators landing in jail! (I was just trying to put a rumor out among the kids, that Mrs. WTxDaddy's husband was mean as all get out and, since he works in the prosecutor's office, could probably arrange to have kids tossed in the jail. 8) (I am kidding about that, though, but I don't want them to know it.)
I've only seen that happen around here at Halloween. Sorry WTxD, but at least you were able to hire the boys to clean it up. Let's hope the rummer goes into full circle as they always do and this never happens to you again. I would have been mad too! What a mess!
