Waiting for the wife to get up her courage to sell the house, I have been looking through some old photos. I came across one that reminded me of my family room construction project. ( photo / image / picture from jbest123's Garden ) The room is 14’ X 22’ and would have been wider but I wouldn’t cut down the tree next to it. You can make out the footer location in the photo which is 16” wide and 30” deep. I didn’t know how to lay cement block so I pored the footer full width and the 6” floor at one time. It required extra concrete but less cost than hiring a mason. The truck driver helped me to screet the concrete and that is the only help I had in the construction of the room.
