We've been waiting for what seems like ages for these films to be made. Let's hope we're not too far behind you - maybe in time for next Christmas? The trailer certainly looks really interesting.

A year of anxious waiting, I wonder if it will be done as an epilog or another long odyssey?

Jerry, The Hobbit was published almost 20 years before LOTR so it would really be a prequel.

Originally it was a stand alone tale but when he started writing the LOTR he had to do a lot of revisions to The Hobbit to make the story and characters flow from it to the LOTR.

The Silmarillion which was published in 1977 will most likely never make it to the big screen, that is a difficult book to read.

I love all the LOTR movies and books. I have been waiting for this to come out since the first movie. I'm very very very excited. AND the trailer looks amazing.
