    Not one of the prettiest but I really like the hermit thrush. Hasn't been coming very long like the others.

    I would welcome this bird to my yard...is he a bit like a nuthatch?

    Yup neat bird. Looks like a smaller version of the Brown Thrasher. I think he is about the size of Blue Bird. We have had a lot of Gold Finch's at our feeders over the past month. Sometimes there are 25 or more stuffed into the feeder filling their little bellies.
    They must know something we don't. Fating up before the snow flies. :eek: I hope not. :stew1:

    I actually think your Hermit Thrush is a rather attractive little bird Kildale. The overall shape reminds me of our juvemile European Robins with its speckled breast. :-D

    I love chubby birds! Your thrush is pretty, although not as showy as some birds.
    We have a lot of white-crowned sparrows right now, and they are cramming themselves full of seed. Think we're going to get snow, Tootie?

    I second that. I am very fond of small birds, and would love to have that thrush visiting my feeder.
