My Louisiana Iris are in full bloom now !! With the wind we have had lately and their being so tall they have just laid down and look like a purple carpet !!!

I have had the same thing happen to some of my bearded iris. The winds are so strong at times...even next to the house where they are protected more...Good Luck with them..

Thanks,,But they are very tall and have several blooms per stem so a good Texas breeze will lay them over. And lately we have had a bit more than a good breeze. I planted them on the south side of my house thinking that they would have a bit of protection. Of course the wind didn`t care about that. They were pretty for a while. Even after they were on the ground it was like a carpet of color.
