I love the sound doves make, it's almost a pretty as they are. We don't have them around here, but there were lots where I lived in Idaho.

I have the sweetest doves here. I wonder about them though... they build their nests in the most treacherous places. Very trusting little friends. I love their sounds too.

They are cute, but fly quick here.

You'll hate this, in our state we have hunting season for Doves.

    Good eating they say??

When I was five or six, I would call them 'rain birds'. It seemed to always be cloudy when I would hear that lovely cooing sound off in the distance, and I thought it was going to rain. I have them in my yard occasionally now. Yes, we have Dove (hunting) season here in Texas as well. :(

The doves in my yard are pretty slow and laid back -- maybe 'cuz there is no dove hunting? Maybe yours fly fast for the same reason?

Mourning Doves are one of mine and the bfs fave birds. Theyre so delicate looking ^_^ The other day there was one flying aand walking around the store lol. Usually the sparrows chase em out.
