    hello everyone,
this (well, last) summer i went to greece for a short holiday. and on the island skiathos i found some cacti, agave, and this nice succulent.
well, i could not help getting two small cuttings. they are doing well in my romanian kitchen windowsill, and after a few long weeks of in-activity, it started growing new "leaves".
i use the commas as the leaves are very thick, succulent like, and i am pretty sure it's what this picture shows.
anyone can help me with an ID?
i'd like to know what i have and learn more about it's needs... i want to eventually see it bloom and set seeds... why not?
here is the pic i could find online... although i could just as well take a pic of my own, but didn't think of that.

many thanks for any tips helping me to ID it

    :D

Looks like Hottentot Fig. Carpobrotus edulis. This is an African plant which has taken over many areas of cliffs and destroyed native plants.

Eric is right it is a Hottentot Fig Calin. We found them along the coastline cliffs in Jersey when we visited some years ago. They can become so invasive that they can cause major problems and have to be removed to allow native plants to grow. It should do well for you though as long as you don't allow it to get out of hand if planted in your garden.

Here is a website that give you lots on information about this plant.

    Thanks Eileen.
Won't be invasive where I live. Cause we get freezing degrees and will definitely die. I will keep it in a pot.
I hope I get to see it bloom, as a lady told me she has had this for two years and not once bloomed.
    We'll see.
I like it even just for the "juicy" leaves.
    :)

I've seen those on Rodos. I find them very pretty, but I don't have to live with them. :D

almost wrote u back to say "hey where is it" then double checked and there it was. overlooked it as you concentrated on the flower... and well... i thought it was a cactus flower...then i saw the tips of the leaves and said to myself "this must be it".
    thanks!
