I just returned from visiting family on the Jersey shore. I walked the beach every morning, thankful for the peace and tranquility of the sea. As I watched these Gulls diving for food and walking the shoreline, I could not help but think of the devasting damage being done to the wildlife and residents in the Gulf. It is heartbreaking to see the news coverage of the devasting effects of this oil spill. Those are some pretty birds. I have some pictures of the beach in North Carolina I took two weeks ago. There were only a few gulls there. But the beach was pretty. It is truly sad for the animals. They have no natural protection agains this type of disaster. Storms and such they know what to do but this is ... What kind of camer are you using? Those are great shots.
Good pictures, Gail. I get the feeling that you really enjoyed yourself on the Jersey shores. I especially liked that last picture. It did it for me.
Yes...I always enjoy going home to see my family and I miss being able to start the day walking the shoreline early in the morning. The best way to start the day. 8)
Your photos bring me such good memories. I love the beach. Like you, I can't get the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico out of my mind. It breaks my heart every day that it goes on.
