A selected cultivar with incredible foliage. It's blooming later this year.

I may have seen the largest Magnolia grandiflora on the planet. A pass onto Weeks Island (and yes they had machine guns)
    in the mid 80's .

Weeks Island is a salt dome and also a strategic oil resevoir.

Beautiful! I don't think I could grow them here but they do grow at my mom's. Big, waxy fragrant beauties!

Very nice. Make sure you don't miss the bloom when fully open. I'm curious.
This is like on top of my list.
    I never buy it...cause ...

the small ones (that I could probably afford with a little belt-tightening) are too small and take forever to grow (plus, they say these need some protection at least the first 2 winters after planting)

the little bigger ones are way too expensive.

I think I have one growing in the greenhouse. It's not doing very well for it's stuffed into a corner cause it's so big. I will get it outside this year and that will make it get into good shape. Maybe it will bloom for me then.

blissful photons, I love that flower. Thanks for sharing.
