Well, every year it's a crap shoot if my magnolia buds can open and not be hit by a freeze. I always cut some branches and bring them in to even out the odds. Brought these in and sure enough the ones outside are brown on the tips this chilly morn. They open in the house a slightly different color than on the tree.
A beautiful piece of floral art Bethie - the blossoms are gorgeous and, I too, see them made up as a stained glass window or panel. Do they smell as good as they look? I have a white one in the garden but it doesn't flower as profusely as yours.
Eileen, that one doesn't have much fragrance. I have this little cutie for that. We do make a magnolia stepping stone but I'm not sure I have one here. They might have all flown the coop.
Ah! It'd be impossible to forget that spring really is just around the corner with that beautiful arrangement on the table.

I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT!! You are all so lucky to have magnolias. Sure wish I could :'( I think Klamath County is a little too chilly for them. I've decorated our bedroom with Magnolias (thank Heaven my husband isn't a whiner!) I've began collecting old magnolia prints and plates to hang on the walls. I found a really neat old print at the thrift store for $1.99 Really made my day! Deanna :-D
Your white magnolia is fabulous Bethie. Mine smells a bit like honey and almonds - erm well I think it does. :-? I have a cherry tree behind it and they flower at the same time and both are scented - maybe it's the cherry that has the almondy smell??? Anyway that part of the garden smells really yummy.
Exquisite!! The only thing I don't like about magnolia is the leaves fall all year long and take about 400 years to decompose.
