    No Sjoerd, That one I did not see. We did have a local deer stuck in a pond after falling through. Firemen in a rescue boat managed to get a rope over the deer and help it to shore. Several times a year newspapers, TV stations, and internet stories do feature stranded creatures in icy ponds and rivers. Ladders, ropes, boats and even human chains risk life and limb to rescue the unfortunate. Even ice fisherman lose their trucks and fishing shacks to the advance of spring and the thinning of ice. Lucky deer!!
