I turned on the computer this morning and got notified that I had a virus in winlogon.exe file. I tried to remove with the virus scan, but everytime it would start to scan, it would reboot the computer and the virus would still be there. I called support and they said the only way to get rid of it was to restore the computer. I did that and have been on it all day getting everything loaded back into it!

These virus's can be a real problem CK. I had a trojan that did exactly the same to my computer a while back. Thank goodness you knew how to restore it!!!! Let's hope that from now on everything runs cleanly for you.

How frustrating for you! I despise virus-writers... grr... I am grateful, though, that this thread was not what I feared, that it was a computer crash and not a car crash!

I thought it was something worse as well Prim, thankfully it wasn't

As I said in my Good Morning post today, this week is a BAD computer week. Along with my system getting corrupted a couple of days back and also my brother's laptop yesterday, Capt's experience is just proof of that!

Hope everything gets back to a normal state soon Capt.

Sorry about your virus. Glad you could fix it yourself. If it were mine, it would be spending days in the shop and many of my dollars to get it back up and running.

I am still running on half a network here in my house. I got another necessary card yesterday and got that installed. That gets my two Mac's up and connected again, but the 2 PC's are just beyond me. I barely know how to turn the on, let alone reconfigure them. And I had them all working so well until my base station which was old and frail in computer years failed.
It's been a trying week for all of us computer-wise.
