This is the weirdest weather ever. It was really getting hot, up to 90 degrees a couple of days ago, and now we are back to 60 degree days and 30 degree nights. When it is cold I do not want to do anything. On the two days when it was nice I was out gardening and doing a lot of shopping.

The weather has been on a roller coaster here too garden_newbie. I also find my mood depends on the weather ... on the nice days I do housework quickly so I can get outside. When it's not so nice out, I'm in no hurry to do anything.

Here too -- One day last week it was 95 degrees (F). Yesterday it below 70 -- still nice in the sun -- and 38 at night.

I guess quite a few of us are having some weird weather. We get some nice days and then here goes 28 degrees at nights...I really don't know how things can survive with this roller coaster weather. Heavy frost over everything the last 2 mornings.

Really changeable weather here too in Scotland. Snow forecast (again) and yet I was out in a T.shirt the other day having a coffee in the sun. Had a frost last night. Hail today.

Why does everything have to suck in our generation? Life was good until everything got flushed down the toilet. Sadly the good times were during my school years, once I got out in the real world is when everything went bad.

I don't know how old you are but MY generation lived with the fear of contracting Polio every summer, Mumps could have devastating life long affects on young boys, Chicken Pox left permanent scars and German Measles was thought to damage your eyesight if you were not in a totally dark room doing nothing for the duration of the virus....it did cause birth defects and miscarriages. So I am thinking that in the field of medicine life is better for the ones that have followed us, than it was for my generation.

You can probably find online records thru the NWS about weather conditions in your area over the last 100 years and they might show that weather has always had strange fluctuations. In my area..1900-1910 saw 339.19 inches of rain....2000-2010 saw 321.74 inches.
I can do the same with the temperatures too and many of the record highs the weather people talk about each evening come from the early 20th century.

My children can't remember any long-lasting winters, but I can. I can also remember snowfalls in June and Christmas Eve temps of 18°C. That's warm for mid-winter! We can plan all we want, but Nature does as she pleases.
