Do you want a cottage type garden with a mixture of flowers and plants? Think about what and how you would like a garden to look and what space you have to make a garden. Write it down or draw a diagram. Check with your plant nursery or shop to see what kind of plants they have. They can also tell you what kind of soil you have in your area. Generally, they will only sell what can be grown in your area. Starting a garden takes a lot of thinking about what you want and where you want it before you start to dig the ground and amend it for the plants that you want.
