Looking for a Decorating Diva to lend me a hand. I'm not skilled at putting together a room - in this case a bedroom. What I do know is that the wall paint will be a light sage/green. Furniture is fixed as well and is fairly new (Dark cherrywood sleigh bed and vanity, very traditional). Where I keep going in the ditch is with picking out bedding and window treatments. I'm afraid to make a selection for fear I'll spend the money and it won't be right. I have no problem with duplicating someone else's success so I'm hoping someone can recommend some bedding and/or curtain/drape options. They don't have to be of the same fabric/pattern so long as they agree. The trim and crown moulding in the room are white as is the ceiling. Here is a link for a room I found online that is right down my alley but was unable to identify the bedding and curtains in the pic. I know this is the lazy man's way of decorating but at least I'm asking for help. If you really like your bedding/curtains and it goes with Fenland green please post the name/model of it and where you got it. going for this effect ( photo / image / picture from Raleighwood's Garden )
I would try to keep it simple. If you are thinking of using a darker green on your walls, and the ceiling in a very light green on the ceiling, as shown in the picture, then I would go for a matching color as your wall that is somewhat lighter than the original color, with simple patterns like diamonds, squares, etc. You may want to choose thicker ones that show quality. If you can find matching curtains as your bedding, great. If not, find a quality one with similar color, and you probably wouldn't have to worry about pattern (they usually come with pretty good ones already.) I'm also a fan of keeping extra pillows and cushions that are matching in color but with a somewhat different design on it. Hope this helps! Nicolette
If you have not painted the room, wait until after you have selected your bedding and/or curtains. It's much, much easier in that order because there are thousands of paint colors and as you see, a limited number of ready made curtains and comforter sets. I agree with the earlier post to make your curtains slightly darker or lighter than your wall color. I did not see a bedding set that was similar to your image from RH, so you may want to try Steinmart. There are no images on their website; however, both of those stores are located in Raleigh if you are not familiar with them. Steinmart has a lot of ready made bedding sets. If I come across another site, I'll let you know.
