Wonderful idea, and there certainly is a need for better nutrition in school meals, and a dose of manners on the side.
When a friend and I were teaching "cooking on a budget" classes for local food pantry patrons, we always served the food they had cooked at the end of class. After the first class, we asked if our folks would like a short course on table manners, also. We started with "your food is your friend, not your foe, and your fork is not a weapon used to subdue it!"
Imagine how surprised they were to learn that good table manners added to the enjoyment of the meal!

This is a great idea and I wish it was at my son's school.

Yes that is a great idea. It figures it was at a charter school. Not sure it would fly with the public school system. But it is a great idea and so much more healthy. :stew1:

Now that's an idea that I totally agree with and would like to see introduced to schools here.
