This is much more exciting than last time I had a Maranta - because I killed it! Is any flower unwelcome in the winter? Not to me.

That is doing really well!!! I don't know much about them but the one I had was a winter bloomer too :p
It bloomed a lot and the little petals kind of made a mess :-? But like you said, any bloom in winter is welcome!!

I used to have one too and took cuttings from it for friends and family. They all seem to have survived but my gave up and died. :(
Yours certainly looks lovely and healthy and you must show us the flower when it opens as it's rather pretty.

I didn't either, and didn't expect it so soon. It's opened! Tiny (smaller than a dime) but pretty!

Well pretty, but I think the leaves are prettier !
Good job though, on convincing it to bloom!

    Thanks for the patch, Henry!

Calin, I wish I could take some kind of credit, but since I had no idea this plant would make a flower, that's not possible, but thanks anyway!

What an adorable little flower. I used to have Prayer Plants in Florida but I don't remember them ever blooming, wish they had!!

Would you please upload your photo to the Maranta leuconeura page. Any growing information you can add would be great, then I can get it indexed and viewable on the web. Thank you ever so kindly ;)
