The bud: Maranta flower bud ( photo / image / picture from purpleinopp's Garden ) Whole plant: Maranta ( photo / image / picture from purpleinopp's Garden ) This is much more exciting than last time I had a Maranta - because I killed it! Is any flower unwelcome in the winter? Not to me.
That is doing really well!!! I don't know much about them but the one I had was a winter bloomer too It bloomed a lot and the little petals kind of made a mess :-? But like you said, any bloom in winter is welcome!!
I used to have one too and took cuttings from it for friends and family. They all seem to have survived but my gave up and died. Yours certainly looks lovely and healthy and you must show us the flower when it opens as it's rather pretty.
Thanks for the patch, Henry! Calin, I wish I could take some kind of credit, but since I had no idea this plant would make a flower, that's not possible, but thanks anyway!
What an adorable little flower. I used to have Prayer Plants in Florida but I don't remember them ever blooming, wish they had!! Would you please upload your photo to the Maranta leuconeura page. Any growing information you can add would be great, then I can get it indexed and viewable on the web. Thank you ever so kindly
Such a delicate and pretty little thing and a lovely colour too. Thanks for letting us see the blooms on your Maranta. :-D
very cool purpleinopp! I guess I never knew this plant (I call Prayer Plant) ever had blooms! Good job, green thumbs
